Lost Ruins of Arnak (2020) has seen significant critical and commercial success since it launched three years ago, and its new expansion, The Missing Expedition is no exception.
Combining a campaign mode with new leaders cards, the game was a major draw at Gen Con this year, but few interested gamers actually got their hands on a copy. Each day CGE, the publisher, made it available at the convention, it sold out in under one hour.
On Friday, a representative from the publisher said it sold out in 45 minutes, and on Saturday, it took around 30 minutes.
CGE assured the community that the low stock would not be an ongoing issue. Rather than Gen Con being the sole release for months, the publisher said it should be available in game stores sometime in September.
Lost Ruins of Arnak has gained a lot of attention for the way it blended deck-building and worker-placement gameplay. Dune: Imperium (2020) and Endless Winter: Paleoamericans (2022) have seen a lot of success using the same formula.
Lost Ruins of Arnak: The Missing Expedition (2023) will retail at an MSRP of $30, but you can find it cheaper online.
