Animated mayhem: CMON announces 3 new Warner Bros. games w/ painted minis

CMON will begin production on three new games based on Warner Bros. properties, the company announced on Thursday Nov. 12. Two of these games, “Looney Toons Mayhem” and “Teen Titans GO! Mayhem!” will use CMON’s new competitive Mayhem system, while “Scooby Doo: The Board Game” sees players cooperatively trying to catch a monster in town.

All three games will feature prepainted minis in the distinctive art style of their source material. The released photos imply that miniatures will include Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and Robin for the Teen Titans GO! adaptation, and Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, and the Tasmanian Devil for the Looney Toons adaptation.

The release is not clear about what miniatures will be included in the Scooby Doo board games, but presumably more details will arrive when CMON’s Kickstarter campaign for this collection goes live. CMON did not provide an estimated date for the Kickstarter, telling potential backers to “stay tuned.”

We also don’t know a tremendous amount about this Mayhem system, other than that it appears pretty variable as far as theme goes. The release noted that while in Looney Toons, the characters will “bash, bop, and drop anvils on one-another,” while the Teen Titans will be focused on, “competing with each other over things like the last slice of pizza, the best spot on the couch, and being the one to bring down the villain.”

We do know that all three games will have a single Kickstarter campaign, and may have a discount if bundles together.

“We are beyond excited to be working on these beloved characters for the tabletop,” Geoff Skinner, CMON VP of Entertainment, said in the release. “Warner Bros. and DC have been incredible partners in making sure that each game pays due respect to the original series they are based upon and gives players the opportunity to experience these characters in all-new ways.”

“These are truly beautifully produced games, with easy-to-learn yet deep rules sets, and I think fans, gamers, and collectors are in for a real treat,” he added.
