Mythic Games’ miniature-laden Kickstarter campaign came to a close earlier this week, with almost 28,842 backers pledging over $5.66 million in total. Backers are estimated to receive their games approximately a year from now.

As we previously noted on the site, Mythic Games seemed intent on providing a miniature for every single sprite that appears in the video game.

Fast Facts about Darkest Dungeon

  • Players accommodated: 1-4
  • Stated play time: 90 minutes
  • Lower age limit: 14
  • Minimum pledge level: $100 + $34 shipping
  • All-in pledge level: $250 + $34 shipping
  • Estimated arrival: Nov. 2021

Since then (Oct. 28), stretch goals have broadened to include seemingly every figure from the game: Every hero (plus a new one), expansions covering the Weald, the Color of Madness, and the Butcher’s Circus, and finally the remaining minibosses, the Fanatic and the Shrieker.

Last of the stretch goals backers reached unlocked a game assistant app that features the “grim musical ambiance” of the video game, plus Wayne June’s iconic narration. Mythic Games hinted that the app “might do other things we’re not ready to discuss,” so we’ll see how that integrates into gameplay.

Otherwise, Mythic Games seems to have succeeded in recreating the entire video game in miniatures. Right down to bushes, crystals, burning pyres, and the voice that guides you through the dark.
